I like things. A lot.
Today has been the perfect day off.
I woke up kinda early, did laundry, did the dishes, make breakfast for the hubbs and I, read like 20 chapters in my new chapter book, and took 2 15 min naps..ha
So I got these 2 books. Let me go into detail.
The first one if called the Five Love Languages. It’s kinda amazing. And I suggest it to anyone in a relationship, or thinking about being in one in any point of their life. It’s all about how we love our partners the way we want to be loved. Which is nice, except we all need/want different things. The five languages are..quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, and physical touch.
Me, personally, I took the quizzes and I believe my primary language is words of affirmation. Which means I need someone to verbally dote on me, love, cherish, and make me feel needed/wanted/loved. Ian is physical touch. So is constantly touching me when I need words, and I am constantly talking to him when he needs touch. We have learned this is some of the reason why tempers can flair. Because we aren’t giving each other what we need, we are giving each other what we would want. Knowing what your partner needs makes it so much easier to comfort them, and make them feel loved and needed.
This other gem of a book, is called how to be an explorer of the world. Its just this book where it tells you to go on these experiments and keep track of the results in the “field work” they created in the back of the book. Examples of these “experiments,” include, “Exploration #32. Collect objects for their potential magic quality Attach a story to them, or create a ficticious history about the object.” And, ” Exploation #12, Write down fifty things about one of the following: A trip to the library, a trip to the grocery store, a walk in your neighborhood.” All the while, the whole book is like one big collage and they urge you to make the book like a traveling museum on how you see the world. It’s pretty neat.
I didn’t mean to write this much, I was just trying to share with the world, the amazing book finds I’ve been having at book stores lately.
It is official, my sleeve will be completed on Saturday at 1pm. I am way too excited to get through this weeeek!
